“ Amazing place! Looks quite plain from the outside but once you walk in the vibe is completely different. It was quite a lively and warm place, and the food was delicious and presented beautifully. The menu was unique from other Thai restaurants you’d find in Toronto, there were dishes that I’ve never seen before on other menus! Overall great experience and would love to come back to try more dishes. ”
“ Great spot for Thai comfort food. Pad thai is flavorful, and crispy pork rice is the star of the show - the sauce is so delicious. Thai iced tea is perfectly sweet. Will definitely be back! ”
“ My boyfriend found this place and at first I was skeptical. It’s quite small on a street I had never been before. But I was blown away by the taste. I ordered for us to try, since Thai food is pretty similar to Viet food. I had to say I got some people’s saying about the portion. It’s modest indeed but it packed a punch. The taste of the food is so exquisite. I understood then why some people in my country would travel to Thailand to have Thai food. My crispy pork (noodle) is so tender & soft. Pork bone soup has a spicy tangy unique flavour and the soft shell crab fried rice is my boyfriend’s favourite. Oh and we washed it down with Thai beer. It was so good. I liked this restaurant a lot and there is a reason why it’s so reputable. It was the weekend when we went, I know, but the place is packed with customers waiting in line. Afterward my boyfriend listened to Whitney Houston’s song in the ride home he’s the kind of person who can be easily told if he likes the food or not after the meal. He even talked about it the next days. It seems like he’s been converted. ”
“ I almost want to gatekeep this spot because I love it so much—but they seriously deserve more hype! Full disclosure: I’ve never actually dined in, but I’m a very loyal delivery customer. While I’ve tried their curries and pad Thai (all solid), my go-to is always the soft shell crab. Each order comes with three soft shell crabs (yes, three!), plus rice, so it’s a generous portion—and yet I shamelessly devour it every time. The crab is served in a Thai curry sauce with assorted veggies and topped with crispy onions. I love throwing on a bit of chopped cilantro for extra freshness, but honestly, it’s incredible even without it. Just a heads-up: if you’re spice-averse, tread carefully—everything here packs heat. But if you’re like me and love a good kick, this place is a must. ”
“ Overall the food, drinks and atmosphere was very nice. However I'd like to say that the wings (TOM YUM FRIED WINGS) were just out of this world. It was so packed with meat, flavourful, not dry, and seasoned to perfection. If you want to give your tongue a spanking good time.... I'd strongly recommend getting the wings!!! Just thinking about them makes me moist & wet, as in my mouth salivating. 69/10 ”
“ Maya Bay Thai delivers a holiday right on Carlton Street. I was invited for a tasting, yet every thought below is straight from my own happily scorched taste buds. The airy wood laden room feels like a breezy patio on an island, and friendly servers glide in with water refills before you even blink. I opened with Tom Yum Fried Wings that arrived sizzling and fragrant with lemongrass and lime. Each bite stayed juicy to the core. A thick Mango Margarita followed, cinnamon on the rim for a gentle warmth. My camera loved the Whole Pineapple Slushie, but my throat appreciated it even more after the spice kicked in. For mains the Pork Jowl Pad Ka Pao brought serious basil aroma and a perfectly runny onsen egg, while the Pineapple Pork Ribs were tender enough to need only chopsticks. The star, however, was Midnight Mama. Picture a deep bowl of tom yum broth loaded with shrimp, squid, crispy pork, instant noodles and hefty crab legs that almost felt like treasure. Durian Sticky Rice and Mango Sticky Rice balanced the heat with soft coconut scented sweetness, proving dessert can still surprise. Service stayed attentive without hovering and the ten percent cash discount makes a return visit even easier. Tropical flavours, thoughtful execution, and portions make this spot truly worth the detour. ”
“ Very delicious. Highly recommend their Chilli & Salt Crispy Pork Belly. Perfect dining experience! ”
“ Service was great and the food was very unique. The Midnight Mama is stuff with seafood but can be a bit on the pricey side. Get the giant pineapple slushie for sure. Cheesecakes were delicious! ”
